There's a lot of political - if unspoken - pressure on the authorities to let (illegal) immigrants in because said politicians truly believe that, infrastructure and resource-wise, they were seen to be coping on "their watch" - that "it was determined" that we (the UK) had the resources to cope.
The fact that it was "determined" by a politician wanting history to paint them in a positive light and not by the physical state of the country's infrastructure & resources seems to be overlooked.
This guy may simply turn out to be one of those that slipped through an over-stretched net (see above).

I’m harder than that fifth, I think we should only take in families not single African types, they are a waste of our resources they have no interest working and want instant wealth, why did we ever allow Albanians in? You have to be hard and realistic we don’t have enough people to work in mental health etc. stop the supply and face some consequence regarding human right laws. Otherwise you may see more shocking videos coming from Stratford town centre.

Goose I haven't read the whole thread or seen your list. I wasn't referring to you or anyone specific.
The government need to be better at dealing with immigration.
To be fair to them in this specific case, a child from Portugal is unlikely to have been picked up in immigration assessment as a potential mass murderer a decade or two in the future. Though whether he was v young eg 5 or 17 isn't mentioned in reporting. "raised" implies from a young age. We shall see.
I dealt with two brothers from West Africa years ago. They'd got refugee status as "children" though it was unclear if in reality they were 16 or 17 or 20. They were both genuine refugees in sense they'd been living in an active war zone. That absolutely ####s you up even as a child. Both really violent. Ended up being part of a gang that murdered a woman at an attempted robbery at a christening within West African community in Peckham. Their accomplice fired gun into the air as warning shot and it ricocheted into head of woman holding the baby.
I actually think we should take in refugees from war zones but people like that, clearly mental men, should be held in secure accommodation and not allowed to mix with public. If they want to go back home then they can be flown directly back.
But going back to original point, from the minimal amount of info in public domain so far, this murderer may well not have been a lunatic when arriving as a child. We shall see what further info comes to light.

5th, many of the perpetrators on the list I posted are British or EU citizens.
Most are 1st or 2nd generation immigrants.
